Achievement of these quality objectives depends on the quality of personnel, the adequacy of organization commitment to work and above all personnel attitude to quality and business matters. In achieving this, the management therefore ensures that;
- Organization, Responsibility, Authorities and interface of different units are well defined and documented.
- The personnel are highly skilled in their field of operation undergo are subject periodical training/retraining.
- The Quality Management system is properly maintained and documented.
- Programs for continuous improvements are implemented.
- Adequate Audits are performed in order to control the Quality Management System and work Process.
The most important principle for quality is the satisfaction of customers in view of keeping their total confidence in Hazcon as supplier of services. The QA Manager or Management Representative has the necessary authority and freedom to control and ensure that the system is correctly implemented and propose any corrective action whenever necessary
We believe that we are obligated to protect the human, physical and financial resources of both the company and client. We recognise our responsibility to manage our business in a manner that will effectively conserve and utilise these resources. It is our belief that all accidents occur as a result of a specific cause or causes and are therefore preventable. Health and Safety Control in the working environment are key priorities for Hazcon, construction and office safety assurance is a major part of the company’s policy. Hazcon’s prime objective is to carry out construction and office operations in a safe, effective and efficient manner, with strong emphasis on prevention through the identification, elimination and control of hazards and risks. Hazcon equally carry out an information campaign designed to remind our staff of their roles and responsibilities for health and safety control in the work environment. Personal injury property damage and resulting loss of production are not acceptable cost of doing business.
Consistent with these beliefs, we will endeavour to:
- Provide a safe and healthy workplace free from recognized hazards
- Hold Managers and Supervisors at all levels accountable for the Safety performance of their operations
- Recognise accident prevention as an integral part of all operational activity and not separate program
- Provide professional personnel to support the safety and health program and to monitor performance Provide necessary instruction and protective equipment and measure when hazardous work must be performed
It is our policy in Hazcon that all operations will be planned and executed in such a way as to:
- Prevent injury to and preserve health of employees and all such person(s) including third parties that may be involved in its operations.
- Minimize the impact on the environment in which Hazcon Operates.
- Ensure security of lives and property/ facilities of our client and Hazcon ’s
- Maintain cordial relationship with Host communities.
Every employee of Hazcon shall prepare his or her work in accordance with this policy and work must be suspended or not started when it is believed that safety system is not in place.
In order to pursue mutually beneficial relations with host communities, Hazcon shall.
- Establish and maintain close relationship with all segments of the local population to better understand their concerns, needs and aspirations.
- Continuously assess and abate the social and economic impact of all business activities and take needed preventive or mitigating measures.
- Response to formal community requests in an appropriate and timely manner.
- Bring relevant issues affecting host communities to the attention of appropriate authorities and other bodies that can be of assistance.
- For the enhancement of harmonious relationship between the company and host communities with the aim to ultimately reduce operating costs, and shutdown culminating from unhealthy company – communities relationship, engage appreciable percentage of the non – skill work force from the local / host communities.
- Engage a community liaison officer who shall liaise between the community and company on matters such as employment of indigenous.
- Implement the community relations plan through the community/ our committee liaising officer
- Co-operate and develop interface with the client and third parties to avoid unnecessary delays, shutdown and unwarranted lost of man- hours
- Prior to mobilisation/movement to any locality, pay familiarisation a visit to the community chief and leaders
- Report community disturbance or threat to client without delay.
It is the responsibility of each Hazcon personnel to perform their work in an environmental sound manner. It is the policy of Hazcon to promote and encourage awareness of and to protect and preserve the environment. In implementing this environmental policy all personnel are encouraged to pay appropriate regards to the environment by acting to preserve air, water soil, plants and animal from adverse effects of their action or those of the sub-contractors. All waste generated when executing projects shall be collected, handled, treated and disposed in such a way not to have impact on the environment. Regular environmental assessment shall be conducted At the conclusion of any activity, our ultimate goal shall be to leave the site in a condition as near as possible to the state in which it was found. Clean -up crews shall remove all debris to prevent injury to lives and preserve the order of the habitat.
